The Queen of Hearts

Over the past 5+ years, I've spent a lot less time illustrating with traditional mediums and much more time on the computer. To brush up on my hand-drawing and just for fun, I worked on this illustration. I had been toying with doing a "Queen of Hearts" for awhile, but didn't know if I was going to go really graphic or something more organic. What I ended up with was more a portrait. The drawing itself is pencil, but I brought it into Photoshop to add the color. It was definitely a fun weekend project, and something I plan on carving out more time to do.
