The Creative Process

I really wish someone had told this to me…
— Ira Glass

I love this video, because it's exactly how I felt when I transitioned from illustration to design. I knew what good design looked like, I knew what work made an impact, but my own creative work seemed to fall short of my own expectations. So I spent years frustrated. And the artist in me couldn't help but spend HOURS working and reworking and redoing, over and over again. I wanted to feel satisfied, to look at something I created, and feel amazed that it was mine, the same way when I looked at a finished illustration. I still don't feel like I'm completely satisfied. Maybe that's a good thing. The gap is closer though, and even with the countless hours I spend, I still love what I do.
